Mrs Hemamali Bibile (Master of Arts in Teacher Education, Bachelor of Education, Dip. In TESOL University London, English Specialist Trained)

Mrs. Hemamali Bibile had her nursery education at Carey College and then continued at C.M.S. Ladies College. She joined the government teaching service in 1971 and passed out as an English Trained Teacher in 1974. She served in many government schools and was a visiting English instructor at the Kalaniya University. She was selected in 1985 to join the Curriculum Development Centre to write the English textbooks for schools and was awarded a government scholarship sponsored by the British Council to pursue the Diploma TESOL at the University of London. On her return in 1993 she was appointed as an Instructor of English for Western Province Education Department. She had completed 32 years in the government sector when she retired to be appointed Principal of Bishop`s College. She also served at Principal Deaf and Dumb School, Rathmalana for a short period, till her appointment as Principal, Carey College in October 2011.

Mr. Sumith Ranasinghe (Bachelor of Commerce (Special), Dip. Education)

Mr. Sumith Ranasinghe obtained his degree [B: Com (Special)] at University of Sri Jayawardhanapura. – 1993 and Diploma in Education at University of Colombo. He joined Carey College as a Sub-Teacher in 1993. He held the post of Master in Charge of Cricket at Carey College in 1994 – 2009. He was appointed as the Assistant vice Principal from- 2006 – 2009. and the Vice Principal from 2010.
